Manuel Oriol, "A Brief Overview of the Internet Programming Paradigm", September, 2000

The growth of the Internet in the past decade has completely modified research in terests in computer science in order to adapt to this medium. The different research interests and practical tools that have emerged are as diverse as the Internet itself and continue to develop. We intend here to give an overview of the different possibilities and problems present in the Internet from the point of view of the programmer. In particular in this article we give some elements of reflection on security, distribution, latency, heterogeneity, mobility, resource finding, coordination and exception handling.
