Abstract

Object-Oriented Software Composition represents the results of about ten years of collective research by the authors on various aspects of object-oriented technology. The message of the book is that the technology is not merely about ``object-oriented programming,'' but that it provides the key to component-oriented software development. Within this view, one can see applications not only as collections of collaborating and communicating objects, but as compositions of plug-compatible software components. The work presented in this book was carried out either by members of the Object Systems Group at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, or by partners in collaborative research projects.
